Today is August 28th and I've done a bit of posting since last night to "catch up" a bit. I am off to work this morning so I'll see what I can do later. As you can see from my posting, I usually work late at night or early in the morning ... seems to work the best for me. I do have some videos that I want to share. Thanks for checking in ... catch more from the summer and what's going on right now!! This is the view that I see when I drive to work along the coast ... Very nice !

Blaise's visit to the dentist

This was Blaise's 3rd trip to the dentist. The first trip was good, although he was a bit hesitant on getting the x-rays so he sat on my lap. The second appointment he wouldn't even lay down in the chair. As you can see in these pictures he did let the dentist check his teeth but he would not lay down. Our dentist is the Best! Blaise likes him and only wants him to touch his teeth ... not any of his "helpers".

Blaise creates a "Daddy's Day Gift"

We love to create special gifts for different occasions and Blaise loves to paint so we go to this place in town where you can paint the items and have them fired. It is really fun. I took Blaise there so he could make a Father's Day gift for Philip. I told Blaise that he could pick out whatever he wanted to paint ie a plate, mug, or any other item ... Blaise picked a skateboard. He did an awesome job painting it all by himself. Here are pics of the work in progress and the skateboard before it was fired.

Our day started out at the beach at the park ... lots of fun on the new playground equipment.

Erin came up and surprised me. We were out to dinner and she just came into the restaurant. It was sooo cool!!

Philip surprised me for my Birthay (In June) and we spent the weekend in Santa Barbara. It was really fun and we had beautiful weather. So nice to just relax!!

Scott's daughter Amy, graduated from High School and we went up to the graduation. She will be going to school in Hawaii next year at the Unversity of Hawaii. We had a fun visit as you can see from the pics. It is always fun at the ranch!

Check out Blaise on his skateboard ... actually it is probably about 45 years old because it is Philip's. Blaise loves it because he can go fast on it! He tells me that he isn't going to ski this winter, just snowboard because he can go much faster! Count on me posting videos of that when the time comes!

Hellooooooo ! Sooo how long has it been? I know, months and months! I actually had to re-figure out how to do this posting stuff. I went back to pictures and I have tons of them and figured I'd just start posting!

All's well. I did get a new laptop, yet I am not posting from it right now with this post. It has been really fun yet my learning curve is straight up but it is a mac so it is "user friendly" they say. Keep checking in for new pics!!

Easter Weekend! "Can't wait for the Easter Bunny to come ... when is he coming again Mommy?" is what I've been hearing all week. Last weekend we went for our annual visit to the bunny. The kids had an Easter Egg Hunt at school that was quite fun to watch. Tomorrow we are going up to our cousins friends ranch near Santa Barbara for a full day of festivities! Looking forward to all the action!!

A Great way to spend a beautiful day ... at the Santa Barbara Zoo!

We went up in the morning, "Bob the Builder" was there for a special visit. We ran into Blaise's friend Jake so they had a blast together watching the show!

Daddy and Blaise had fun on the train ... Blaise's favorite part of the Zoo. As part of the festivities they had "Jolly Jumps" set up ... here is Blaise peeking out!

It's a Great Day for Little People!!! Tis the "Wearing O' the Green Day" ... as we say in Ireland ... "Erin Go Braugh"!!!

Blaise had lots of fun posing with Zacky for his "annual" St. Patrick's Day photo. It is amazing that Zack will sit still for him for the duration. I guess he figures it's easier just to stay put than to be chased around by a little Leprechaun!!

Blaise wanted to swim in the jacuzzi with his hat on so as long as he didn't go underwater, I was ok with it. I actually got this hat for him when he was 6 months old and recycle it every year for the annual pic ... so if it seems familar, it is!

Blaise loves his two wheeler! We use to have blocks on the pedals so that he could reach them but now they are off because as he says " I'm Big Now, I'm Four Years Old"!

We still have the training wheels on until he feels comfortable with his balance ... I'll keep you posted on his progress!!

Frost in Ventura

Here is Blaise attempting to save some of the hail that fell at our house on Jan 24th. We have had some crazy weather here lately but nothing as crazy as the sound of huge hail falling!

We were sitting in the house one night and we heard this strange sound ... then looked outside and sure enough it was hail. So, what did I do ... grabbed my camera of course! Blaise put on his rain boots and grabbed his umbrella and was out with me. It was a cool weather experience ... but as soon as it came ... it melted and we were just left with more rain. Well, it was a close to snow as we ever saw!!

Off To Santa Barbara

A surprise for Blaise ... we took the train up to Santa Barbara for the day! It was great!

We arrived in the late morning and just "cruised" State Street. Went for lunch and took in the sights. Later we walked out on Stearns Wharf to see the view of the city from offshore. Blaise made a new "friend" at the Pirate Ship!

October 25, 26 & 28th were very fun days at our house. We celebrated Blaise's Fourth Birthday! On His Birthday we went to the Zoo and visited all of our animal friends and had a picknick by the meercats, Blaise's favorites! After the Zoo we went for a ride on the Flying Horses. At night we had cake with Daddy. The next day we had another celebration with Amalia and all the kids. Amalia set up all the decorations and had cake and treats for the kids. On Oct 28th we decorated gingerbread men with our neighbor friends Paris and Elle. We had lots of fun! We also had a pinata which Blaise and the girls Loved!!!

Blaise was in his glory when he got to sit up with the tractor driver at the pumpkin patch.

I was able to go with Blaise's school when they had their field trip.

Blaise and Kyle had a blast together! We went on a hayride out to the patch and then each child got to pick out their own pumpkin.

Six Years ... Wow! Philip, Blaise and I celebrated our Anniversay by going out to dinner at "Our Restaurant" where we went out to dinner for the first time together and it is where we like to go for special occasions. Philip and Blaise surprised me with a yummy cake and here we are with it!

October 1st was Blaise's first day of preschool at Montessori. When we got to school you can see from the pictures below that he didn't want to go. After seeing that he could have lots of fun he was smiling when I picked him up in the afternoon. It was an adjustment for him and also a big change for Me !

Tour of the Buoys Swim

On August 5th I went down to La Jolla to do an ocean swim with Erin. It was at La Jolla Shores Beach. Philip and Blaise were our cheerleaders as well as our photographers. It was the first swim that I had done in a Long, long, long time!!! Erin said that she would stay with me and assured me that I would be fine. It did work out great. We swam side by side for the mile and a half swim and then ran out of the water together. It was Awesome!!! First time I was able to swim with my "little sister"! After the race we thought we would check out the results and much to our surprise, we each won our age groups so we got these cool medals!

On September 10th Erin and I did a 3 mile ocean swim in La Jolla called the "Gatorman".
It was really fun! A beautiful day. The race started at 1:30 so there was a bit of chop on the water. We swam together the whole way. There were lots of swimmers in the race. Erin shows the course in the video below.

Ten Mile Ocean Swim Relay

On September 23rd my sister Erin or "Aida" as I call her, swam with a relay team a ten mile ocean swim in La Jolla to raise money for diabetes. Here I am with Aida and this is our team. We each swam one mile lengths and tagged off to the next swimmer as they ran out of the water so we each swam two miles, except for Aida who swam three times or six miles because one of our team members was a bit tired. He did give it the team try!

Saturday is Farmer's Market Day at our house. Usually Philip and Blaise go together. The other day when I opened the door when I heard them coming up the driveway, this is what I saw. Philip said that it worked out great! A way to keep Blaise under control And to get all of the shopping done ... and Blaise Loved it too! Always using his head, that husband of mine!

Ok, Ok yes it has been Quite some time since I have posted ... no excuse! Here you go Uncle Bergie! I love these pics of Mr. Blaise. He has so much fun at the ranch. The stories go on for months, just enough to tie him over until the next visit. I remember when Blaise was scared to feed the horses by himself and now he can't get enough of it.

Hopefully we will see you soon Uncle Bergie ... up there or down here. WE miss you!!

Fourth of July in Ventura

We had so much fun on this day. First there was the "Push and Pull Parade" downtown. Basically it is a parade of kids with wagons, bikes, trykes moving down Main St. and throwing candy to all of the people watching. It was like "trick or treating" without going door to door. Blaise said that maybe next year he would walk with me in the parade with Zack. After the parade we went to the street fair downtown to check out all of the artwork and snacks. Blaise was so excited to see the ponies and ran over to get a ride. We were able to see the fireworks from our house. It was really cool!!!

One of our favorite characters is Curious George. One day I found Blaise sitting on the floor with his Curious George collection, reading and using the box as a hat. He looked so cute!

We look at the pictures and Blaise tells me the story. He has his favorites of course and we are never at a loss for entertainment!

Here are Maria and Molly securing the bucket so that the nagging bounce will not be heard during the race! Blaise and I went down in the morning to see the girls and to wish them a great paddle. Weather was really nice for Ventura, a change from our usual fog. Everyone was full of energy and ready to go ... smiles everywhere .. that is what I love about being around these girls! They race hard and know how to have lots of fun together. Soon enough I'll be back on the water ... Enjoy the pics!

Aloha Santa Barbara Rig Run

Here's Riley, Dru's little boy who was our fan on this foggy day in Santa Barbara for the annual Rig Run Race. The girls all came together to make the trek around platform "C" in the Channel and then triangulate back to East Beach in just under 2 hours. Vicki was our awesome stroker followed by Dru, whose voice lasted great through the race despite being horse at the start! I was in seat three, Christy in four, Julie in five and our Mindy steering us! It was Cool to see Molly and "her George" ... finally meet him in person! So much positive energy from everyone! Look forward to getting back in the boat!!! Mahalo Wahines!!!

Cinco de Mayo Ventura Raceway

Cinco de Mayo was a festive day for our family. We ventured down to the Ventura Raceway. Almost every Saturday they have races. You can hear the roar of the cars from all over town. This evening was a bit cold as you can see from our jackets. We didn't have the wet cold from the ocean, that was right at our backs so that was nice. They race all different divisions of cars ... tiny ones that look like they are a go-cart with a shell to much bigger models. We sat up in the corner so we had a perfect view as the cars slid round the turn. It was really Fun!!

On Sunday April 1st, Blaise, Daddy and I went for a drive out to Fillmore because we thought that Thomas the Train was going to be in town. Driving into town we didn't see many people and soon realized that we were there on the wrong weekend. Well, that didn't stop us from having the best time. On the first Sunday of the month, they have these cool trains, made by the guys themselves, train club guys, and they give rides to the public. We totally lucked out. We had so much fun!!! Blaise then wanted to have an ice cream cone after his ride so we just relaxed in the park and enjoyed the morning! A Super Fun Day!! Enjoy the ride! ... and the cool music by Daniel Ho

This is the coolest invention ... a s'mores maker that you can use without going camping. We set it up one night after dinner. Blaise thought it was the greatest, I loved it too! You really had to watch your marshmellow or else it was flaming in a second! A really fun and festive dessert!

Fillmore Train Show

Last week we went out to Fillmore to check out the train show! The weather was beautiful! Blaise wanted to have train sets at home just like the ones that we saw at the show. St. Patrick's Day is a festive day at our house. This year Blaise said that it was Zack's turn to wear the hat. I bought this hat 3 yrs. ago and have taken a picture of Blaise wearing it each year.

The first year I had to prop him up in a chair and put a towel in the hat so that it would stay on his head.

A perfect day for a parade. We scoped out our perfect spot and got settled in for a fun time. Blaise really enjoyed himself! A long as he has a lollypop and can see some fire engines and motorcycles, he's a "happy camper". He did say that he liked the tumblers the best this year!

Going for a haircut is a fun adventure for Blaise. We go to a place that is totally kid friendly. Blaise looks forward to his haircuts. They have toys, videos and of course when he's finished,

he has a choice of a lollypop or a toy. He always wants to stay and play for a bit when we're finished. I remember our first time, he sat on my lap ... not now, he's a Big Boy...just ask him!

Daddy came home the other night with the coolest surprise ..new skis for Blaise! They were the perfect size. Here he is trying them out for feel (with his "Wiggles Slippers" for comfort). We can't wait to get up to the slopes ... lots of fun for all of us ... a true adventure!

Blaise was quite the horseman, all decked out in his cowboy boots ... he got the "clicking" noise down to make "Marshall" move right along ... he'll be riding solo before we know it!

Yes, I am a bit injured at the moment so I am at the gym on the walker and trying out this cool internet access. It is a bit hard to type and walk so I probably won't be doing this again...plus I have to type with one finger, so that I can guard my ribs on the right side...no jarring allowed! If I want to eat those Christmas goodies I have to burn the calories somehow ...better not fall off, how would I explain it to work..

Uncle Sean comes to visit

Uncle Sean, my brother, was in the state for business for a few days so after he was finished work he jetted up to see us for the evening and spent the night. Blaise was thrilled! We don't get to see Uncle Sean much because he lives in Hawaii .. I know, I know, we should be getting over there to see him ... soon ! ...besides, Blaise has three cousins 6, 4, and 2 that he would have a blast playing with at the beach!

Storytime and tubtime are favorites of Blaise and to have Uncle Sean here to join in was the Best for him!

Today was Christmas Tree shopping day! Blaise was very excited. We were amazed that we actually found "the perfect tree" right off the bat! This tree is awesome! Usually we look around for a long time and debate on tons of trees trying to decide but not this time ... took the very first one that we liked and that was it ... record time!!! Time to decorate!
