Maybe I'll Quit Blogging

I am thinking of quitting blogging! I mean, who really reads my stuff, well I do have a fan in Jovi and Lauren. I like to write stuff to share but do you guys like it?? I know that I am a spaz and not as "colorful" as you all. I guess the real reason I should write is for me...it's fun! I love to read your stuff. I look forward to the new listings! That's it for today.

A Morning of Fun !!

The Little Man was in all of his glory getting to ride on the old fashioned fire engine. Last Saturday morning we had a pancake breakfast fundraiser for two of our firefighters that have cancer. It was a Huge success!!! One of our firefighters, the man driving here in the pic, is a collector of old fire engines, he restores them and then uses them for special events ie parades etc. Well Mr. Blaise was having the time of his life getting to ride up on top of the fire engine!!

From the Kitchen to the Garden

Need any plants or flowers to be planted? Blaise is the little man to do it! Loves digging in the dirt and is a very hard worker. Sweeping, as you know is his favorite activity! He'll sweep a pile together, mess it up, just to sweep it again. We bought a bunch of flats of flowers last weekend and he wanted to plant them all. He sometimes gets overzealous and ends up digging up the already planted flowers. The best thing is that he takes the time to smell all of the flowers that he plants. Let's all learn a thing or two from "the Little Man". Take time for the little things in life!

Let Them Eat Cake ... Um, I Mean Pie !

The other night I was looking at our fruit bowl and we had lots of apples that were about to "go away" if not eaten. Not wanting to waste precious food I found my Betty Crocker cookbook and looked up a recipe for apple pie. Now I probably have made a pie in my day but I really can't remember making the "actual crust" it's just soooo much easier to buy the pre-made ones at the market. Made my dough, hey it's not that hard, and peeled all the apples and popped it into the oven. I thought that it looked pretty cool so I took a picture of it. My husband thinks that I am loosin it, boy he doesn't know the half of it! The pie actually tasted pretty good too! Now for the sad news that has nothing to do with the pie. A couple of days ago my digital camera went out of comission. Yes, I am on the hunt for a new one. It's amazing how many pics I take. My husband is very supportive of me getting a cool camera, with more megapixels than the old one, as he says "because I take all the photos. So I"m off to read consumer reports and find "the Kind" digital! Ciao for now!

Ok, Let's Dust Off The Surfboards

Aside from watching AI, Survivor, The Amazing Race and of course "The Donald Trump Show", one thing that I really like to do is to surf ... aka my chosen name "Surfwhine" which is surf girl for those of you who don't speak Hawaiian! Well while out in my garage the other day looking for something I glanced up at my surfboards ... haven't been out surfing since I was 5 months pregnant, sorry no pics for Ya'll to see! I was in my bikini so it was interesting to see the looks from the other beachgoers! My boards need to be dusted off and put back in the water. I have been back in the pool almost everyday getting back into paddling shape. I swam everyday while pregnant and even was a week late and still doing flipturns in the pool, hope that "Little Blaiser" was having a fun time!! I have three boards, the red one, "The Soldier", the polka dotted one, "The Clown Board" , and "The Hot Flame Board". I like the polka dotted one the best! Soooo now if I can just get out on the water and get a few pics you all can see what fun it is. I'll be taking Blaise out with me when the weather warms up a bit ... way too cold for awhile for the little one. We just have fun in the jacuzzi right now and pretend that we a big wave riders!!

Red Sox ... is there another Team ??

Just so Y'all know, just because we are in the West our "hearts" are in the East ... Coast that is. The other day I took Blaise to the sports store to checkout baseball gloves, trying to find the smallest one that they carried. Guess I am a little overanxious because even the very small ones were huge. Soooo instead of the glove we got this cool hat, which he doesn't want to take off of his head. I told him that "B" was for Boston and of course "B" is for Blaise. Later that evening when Daddy came home, Daddy asked Blaise what the "B" was for and Blaise shouted out "BOSTON" !!! Now there was no prompting by me for the response and I had told him Boston earlier in the day. Must just be in the blood! He knows about "The Green Monster" and we hope to get to Fenway soon!!!

Watch our Rachel Ray !

Little Blaise figured out all by himself how to put together the mixer and was sooo proud! He was ready to create his next project (with the guidance of Rachel, of course). He just loves to watch her. I know that he will end up being a much better cook than me ... must run in the male genes in our family! With Mom and Dad's help there's nothing that the "little man can't create !

Baseball

The little man is feeling a lot better so it is out to play baseball. Of course he has to have his hat ... must look official when playing ... and He asked to wear it! Just got a new ball and bat the other day ... if we can only keep the ball away from Zack we'll be able to play a bit longer. He loves the mit ... even though it is Way Too big for him ... it's Dad's old mit. He's got the technique down and hey when he doesn't hit the ball he chases it on the ground and just plays hockey. Either way he's having a blast and that's all that really matters!

The Games Have Begun

Last night opened with a bang ... on the Trump jet! Nice beginning! I loved the comment by "The Donald" about his hair being "real" because of the wind on the tarmack!! Poor, pretty Summer, you got the boot ... guess it's not "summer in February for you dear!" I like the group, very diverse and I'm sure we will see a lot of tempers flair this season. Carolyn was hard core in the boardroom. "What did you do to contribute to the team ... Summer ????" she glared and waited for the answer as Summer just squirmed in her chair looking around the room. George was his "good ol self" actually must more laid back than in the past episodes. Love the game ... Look forward to the comments from the group ... until next Monday ....

"Mules" ... Oh So Random

Ok Ok , these are mine ... go ahead, laugh...because if you saw me trying to walk in them You Would be Laughing!! So what are mules anyway ? why the name "Mule"?? where does it come from??? Now, of course I did not buy these beauties for myself, they were a shower gift from my friend. Love the color though ... "ruby red". I guess they are supposed to make my legs look good ... I think that I will just leave that up to the "runway models" !

LOVE the CHOCOLATE

Thought I'd add a little bit of color and sweetness to the blog! Love the M&M's ! Guess it is just because they are just too easy to eat. I buy the 3lb bags at Costco and always have them ready to replenish our gumball machine. As you can see, at the moment I am lagging at filling it up! We have the machine on the corner of our bar so as you pass by you just turn the crank and have a handfull of sugar! People love it when they come over, especially the kids .... Wow and no coins needed! Guess I'm just a kid at heart ... and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that !!!

Wanna Be A Cook Someday

So what is it these days that draws me to "The Food Network"? It's not like I curl up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and take down the recipies ... ya as if I really have the time! Anyways, I find myself watching these cooking shows mostly when I am cooking dinner, as an alternative to the news. I guess I feel if I watch enough of these shows I can get some ideas for myself. Now me, and my lifestyle I need to be able to make things that are simple and fast ... so of course my favorite show is with "Rachel Ray" and she makes 30 minute meals. Not only are the meals fast but healthy. She is quite the funny girl. She is bubbly and loves to eat! I guess I think that by watching her show I will somehow remember her tips when I comes time for that creative recipe night!
My husband just laughs when he sees the Food Channel on. He is a really great cook, yet as he puts it, it's always nice to have a break ... we share cooking so don't get me wrong! I just love to bake because I love to eat the yummy treats! They do have a show called "Sugar Rush", right up my alley where they find cool desserts ... but you know what, I just love plain old chocolate, give me a bag of M&M's anyday! ... although dark chocolate is a weakness !

The Aquatic Perspective

People reading this blog may think, what the world is a "fisheye view"? Well, when trying to think up a name and be off the cuff about it ... it just came to me. When looking around my house the other day for fish to photograph I could not believe how many things there were to capture. I guess it is because I am an aquatic person and like having the feel of sea things around. This is actually a picture of the stained glass window in our bathroom. We had it made in Mexico, on one of our random adventures. We took out the existing window and framed this one in. The window has a light that shines on it from the back from outside so when it's dark it is a cool nightlight. Hey, I wonder what a "real fisheye view" would be like ??

Fireplaces aren't just for looks in CA

We have had really nice and crazy weather this winter from the 90's to the low 40's. What to wear is the question?? I am always wearing shorts even if I have my Ugg boots on. People think that I am crazy but who really cares as long as I am comfortable...right! Every night this past week we have had a fire in the fireplace ... makes me feel like I'm back east ... without the snow. My cousin Nancy can fill me in on the snow adventures so I can live my snow fun through her. Bundled little Blaise up to go for a walk around the block in his red wagon ... all set with milk, pretzels, blankets and his best bear friend "Cutie Pie". Nice way to catch the sunset. Another fire tonight I'm sure, supposed to be cold ... for CA

Today was a beautiful day ... clear with cool clouds, after last nights downpour. We went for a walk downtown to go furnature shopping. Outside the store was this car ... oh soooo bizarre ! All kinds of figurines glued to it. Of course I had my camera ... just in case I found something on my travels for my "blog" oh ya know, yes I'm the novice so I fugured I'd be ready!! I wasn't the only one taking pictures. As I was taking the pictures I saw the owner/driver opening the car door and her hair was the color of this type. Yes, flaming purple ! She was letting her little dog out of the car. Zoom in and check out the figures ... What a Trip !!!

We had Lots of balloons at our house on Valentines Day ... but one day later the "regular balloons" were on the ground looking like they had been up all night at a party! The mylar balloons, on the other hand are still flying high above in the house. What's the deal?? I know that they will probably be up there until St. Patrick's Day when we will replace the pink, red and white with lovely shades of green!

Mr. Blaise and "Cutie Pie". She is his new Best Buddy !!

Do I have the sweet husband or what? I woke up this morning to find an orchid on the kitchen table with chocolates. All around the kitchen were chocolate hearts. Leave it up to him to put chocolates by the computer! Do I have a "Keeper", Yes, I do !!! Happy Valentines Day !!

Our own little "Bob the Builder" ! He is very industrious. Loves to vacuum and sweep!! Every day is a new adventure. He's Mommy and Daddy's big helper. Outside is his favorite place !!!

Wow what a great beach day we had. Exploring, finding cool rocks and driftwood! Lots of fun .. just like summer without the fog !!
